  • Price Keeps Going Up, Bugs Remain

    I have been using this app from day 1. AT&T is clearly more interested in raising the service price every few months instead of fixing the numerous, annoying bugs in their app software that would make the price increase realistic. The app has had no significant improvements since the beta testing stage, there continues to be problems with their streaming and recording, and bugs that have existed since the beginning are still unresolved. I was patient during the beta and initial rollout because that’s the nature of a new, complex app. HOWEVER, the poor quality and design of the app and the constantly increasing price have left me wondering if an alternate streaming/internet service is the solution for me. Additionally, AT&T is sneaking in their own advertising to obscure other advertisers and also adding ads when you pause a show. If they want to add even more commercials to my viewing, then make the service price reflect this and keep our prices down. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this app/service considering the condition it is currently in.

    Still does not work properly with Apple TV. Big delay between voice and visual. Starts out fine when turned on. A minute later big delay in movement.

    It very difficult to get any help with passwords, user Id’s, questions. Absolutely ridiculous and I’m so frustrated. Been trying two days now to log in!!!
  • Apple TV app unwatchable

    I generally like the capabilities of the service (despite the repeated price hikes), but the Apple TV app is unwatchable on the Apple TV 4K, and has been this way for months now. The app used to play fine on my Apple TV set to 4K output, but a few months ago it started playing back with lag between what’s being seen and what’s being heard. No other app acts this way. The lag starts after a minute or so and then seems to get worse (with the lag getting even longer over time). It’s this way on live content and recorded, and nothing worked to resolve it (I tried killing the app, uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and signing out and signing back in). So, the app is unusable on my TV, making the service worthless as well (as much as I want to enjoy it).

    The OLD package channel selection (not available anymore) was great which is why I’m still putting up with this service. The app on Apple TV has been laggy and unusable for a month with no fixes. What a joke of a development team that they haven’t fixed this issue. Can’t wait until I drop these guys when the other services get some better channel selection.
  • Prices keep raising

    I had AT&T’s TV NOW service since they launched it as DirecTVNOW, and promised 100+ channels for only $35/month, which they suddenly backtracked and stated was just a promotion. Then they raised the prices even on those of us on the promotion, then again, then changed up the packages to give fewer channels at higher prices, then raised the prices yet again. Even with a monthly $25/month credit for getting this service when they launched, the prices looked like regular cable but without the locals and other options I’d have gotten. I ended up changing to Hulu Live TV, because even at $65/month, I have more options like streaming on my XBOX and PS4 that AT&T promised at launch and still haven’t delivered on, I have my local channels that AT&T never managed to get to in my area, and I’m paying much less money (tldr - less money and more service by dumping AT&T). AT&T promised lower prices when they bought DirecTV, but they’ve only shown their inability their continued inability to keep their word and put their customers first.

    The update is buggy on the Apple TV 4K . The picture gets choppy and lip sync issues starts to happen. Netflix and other apps works without issues.
  • Since rebranding, unusable disaster

    Since last update when they rebranded from directv now to att now, it’s become a disaster. Weird stuttering video and/or completely out of sync audio. Never had that issue before. Deleting and reinstalling app doesn’t help. Support suggested switching Apple TV 4K output to 1080p. Apple TV can “match frame rate and dynamic range” but not resolution, contrary to what they tried to convince me. I watch lot of 4K content so it’s not a real solution. Regardless, even when trying to switch it to hd-1080p it didn’t fix the problem.

  • The worst app I’ve ever used

    This is beyond the worst app I’ve ever used. I didnt even know apps could be this horrible. It glitches CONSTANTLY. In so many different ways that I can’t even list them all. The commercials trigger glitches (it seems), sometimes the commercials will run and than immediately start again. I’ll go to watch a show and it starts playing a completely different show??? At times you can hear the sound but there is no picture. Its just absolutely terrible and it makes me mad because I hook up my phone to my tv and thats how I watch my shows. Never had an issue with Hulu, Netflix, Disney + etc. But I watch a lot of reality tv and the this app has the latest episodes but it’s almost impossible to get it to display onto my tv when I hook it up so I end up having to watch them on my tiny phone screen (which is now cracked) or just give up entirely. Do you guys not have a team of IT people to fix these issues?!?! It’s been probably about a year now since I got this app and nothing has changed.
