  • Completely unreliable

    All in all this app does not work well, and is getting worse. My biggest complaint is a lack of reliability. Picture quality will drop unexpectedly, and buffering/loading during shows is becoming constant. That’s if the show will even load to begin with. My first thought was that my connection could be weak but I can switch to Prime or Netflix and never have an issue. Since the brand change from Direct TV this service has been on a steady decline. As many others have stated the recording feature does not work. It hasn’t ever worked for us. I will be canceling this service.
  • Bugs ARE a feature

    I’ve used DirecTVNow / AT&T apps and service for a couple of years now. On the Apple TV platform in particular, no matter how many updates are released, no matter which name the app bears, two basic bugs have persisted in EVERY version: 1 - frequent dropouts - the TV signal goes black and silent. Were this due to a weak WiFi signal, clicking the “menu” button would not bring the signal back immediately every time - but it does. Something in the software is apparently making this happen. 2 - quite often, the program guide will only update and populate when accessed from the “Watch Now” screen. Accessing the guide from the regular menu just stalls and blinks without updating. These two problems having persisted and never being fixed tells me that the app development at AT&T is severely flawed and mismanaged. It also tells me that they simply want to focus on new subscribers without focusing on providing quality service. I will likely be dumping their service and signing up with one of their competitors very soon.

    As a subscriber to AT&T TV, I’ve always loved the flexibility that comes with this app. However, my relationship with them is coming to an end. With their exorbitant price increase due to hit in November, I can no longer continue to justify paying for what they offer. Other carriers offer far more for the same or less than AT&T has, so I’d strongly encourage you to switch if you want to save money.

    Why does this app keep signing me out of my account on my APPLE TV. Borderline ready to cancel the account just because of this stupid bug.
  • Needs a lot of Work!

    When the promo slides are shown (for other shows available to watch) the audio and video get out of sync. Have to disconnect and reconnect to continue. Sometimes has trouble casting to Chromecast. Sometimes freezes and gives an error message. Playback from the Library glitches and freezes. Can’t cast a recorded show to Chromecast! Need to use a cord. Wut!? Sometimes the app won’t let me log in. Says ‘there’s a problem’. The app is crap! Now the price is increasing $15/mo starting in November? $65 instead of $50! Wuuut?! 🤪!!
  • Overall very disappointed in AT&T, this app no different

    Just doing this review before I go. Been a loyal customer of bothAT&T and Directv for 10 years. I moved over from the traditional Directv service which had also become an overpriced shoddy service. Just got notice yesterday that my bill is going up 60%. YouTube TV and Hulu both are a much better value without the glitches. See ya.
  • Worthless

    App has been having trouble locking up or ignoring passwords all day. Doesn’t work on 2 Android tablets (different OS versions), an android phone, an Apple TV 4 box and 2 iPhones, one running 12.1.4 and one running 13.1.3. How in the world can you maintain a 4.6 rating when all I see are 1star ratings? How incompetent does one have to be, to be a developer for the AT&T Now app? I think my unborn grandchild (not even conceived) could do better.

  • Garbage Reliability

    This app is very sporadic as to when it decides to work or not. Numerous times it’ll make me re-login only to say, “Oops, something went wrong,” and then I just won’t be able to watch anything. This happens on the iPad app and Apple TV app all the time. It’s very frustrating. I’ve also noticed audio sync issues, at least on the Apple TV version as I’ve used that a lot more than the iPad. Additionally, it’d be nice if the fast forward feature gave you a thumbnail of the video so you can more accurately know when to start playing again when skipping commercials, the way the normal DirecTV receivers worked.
