  • Horrible for Managing Devices

    By RDustinB
The daily time doesn’t update even after changing times and hitting apply. Always requires OTP even though I check the box every time that says “don’t require OTP”. Can you just make an app for doing nothing more than managing my kids devices please? Can you allow me to NOT allow device usage during the week? Why is the minimum 15 minutes? Amazon has great controls compared to other manufacturers (Apple) but they could be improved!!
  • Adequate Results but unnecessarily complicated

    By Penguin Tail
The FreeTime Parent app certainly has a good amount of control available. However it is extraordinarily unintuitive. As near as I can tell, in order for my kid to be able to listen to music I have to download ANOTHER app (the Alexa app) in order to enable “skills”. I can control exactly how much time my kid needs to read or listen to audible (and props for those being separate settings) and I can control apps and movies - but I need a totally different app to link my music account? 🧐 Also, it would be really nice if I could either make a separate setting for educational apps or whitelist a couple favorites to have a separate time limit.
  • Good for entertainment only

    By dissatified mom
Bought for an eight year old so that he would have his own tablet for schoolwork and then entertainment. The Amazon Fire with kid’s app is useful for entertainment purposes ONLY! The school website can not be accessed using the required google login information and the camera does not open to scan a code as an alternate. The website he needs for his music theory assignments does not run on the browser provided. Despite setting parental controls that require time reading and on educational apps prior to videos/games, some video content (PBS Kids) still run. Keeping it, at least for now, for the subscription to Audible only.
  • Audio books?

    By Voter 2016
So far I can’t get the audio book for which I purchased this app/subscription. They don’t have in their catalogue The Hobbit, either! Not happy with this.
  • Horrible and extremely difficult

    By Joshi Bhandu
I have never seen anything so complicated to setup. Parental controls and adding content to Echo Show is a nightmare which is still not over for us. Me and my daughter have spent the last hour trying to get this to work. And after all that .... guess how many audiobooks are available? THREE, yes that’s right, three audiobooks. No kidding. And they want a monthly subscription?????? Amazon, surely this is a prank you are playing with prime members, right?
  • Not the best

    By Batyak
This app does not make it easy for parents to pick and choose the content their kids can see. Amazon appears to think they are better at deciding what is suitable at what age for your child then their parents. Limiting access to certain apps and programs without blocking the child entirely from things like a web browser or all of the prime content amazon find suitable is virtually impossible. does. The app itself is clumsy and does not always work.
  • Confusing

I’m an Apple user and figuring out where and how to load things is not well explained.
